What is good leadership!

Whether we aspire to lead, at one time or another we’ll either lead or be led. In either case it is critical to understand some of the most important traits a good leader should have…knowing them will help you to know whether or not you should be playing follow the leader or you should be taking the lead and doing it well.
A good leader cares about his/her character and reputation.  He/she recognizes that developing a good character is mandatory that, having a reputation that can undergo scrutiny and examination is a must, that operating with the highest integrity helps him/her avoid pitfalls and stumbling blocks.

A good leader values honesty, though being honest at all times can be very difficult.

A good leader accepts that when the ship is sinking, he/she is responsible for the outcome. There is no one else to blame, even if it actually is the fault of another. He/she hold himself accountable and responsible for failures and credits his/her followers for successes. A good leader is enthusiastic about leading others to their success. He/she is more enthused at the development of his/her followers than he/she is about having others acknowledge and look up to him/her .

A good leader is confident. He/she is never short on praising others, encouraging others, placing others first, after all, he/she knows that to build other up….

  means that he/she rises higher.

A good leader remains positive, calm and steady in the face of crisis, he/she realizes that his/her emotions influence the emotions of his/her followers and impede or promote their success and/or growth.

A good leader thinks in the we and promotes the we, they realize that I does not build, that we build. It takes more than one person to create a kingdom, to build an empire, to grow a company, to promote an organization…

A good leader can take feedback and does not take feedback personally, but rather sees feedback as an opportunity for improvement.

A good leader has a mentor and is a mentor.

A good leader is committed to developing the next leader for the next generation.

What is thankful!

Hey, I am just a humble guy, despite the accumulating fame, I am the most extraordinary , extra- ordinary guy you will meet. I root for the underdog, while celebrating the victor. I champion the cause of the weak, while fighting the battles with the strong. I campaign for the voiceless, while giving shout outs to the most heard voices around the world. I personally understand being in both those places, simultaneously. With that said, I just want to thank you for taking your time to read my blogs, to send your comments, to express your thoughts. I would rather win this race with a few hundred loyal fans than the millions of clapping on-lookers who will clap for you today, but wave good-bye to you tomorrow in search of the latest “soup of the day”. If you can share my blog with just one friend and ask them to look, to enjoy, to comment, to share, I would be grateful. Again, I am thankful for each and every one of you. May we share in my victory together!          Yours truly, TWF, Tony Williams

What is booty!

From the runways promoting urban clothing to the stages of strip clubs worldwide to the sets of music videos,  big booties bring big “booty”. This phenomenon and fixation with big booties or as the old folk call it “behind”, a genetic trait encoded in Africans, but having spread throughout the world as African blood filled the veins of every race  known for carrying the gene that means more booty in the jeans, began way before urban clothing, strip clubs and music videos. The first known exploitation of the booty phenom began with  Sara Baartman, a Khoi Khoi woman taken in 1810 from her home in Cape Town, South Africa.
The brother to the her slave owner suggested that he allow him to take her to Great Britain and put her on exhibit. The governor of Cape Town granted permission for her to leave Cape Town, but later regretted the decision when he learned of her inhumane treatment. Sara was promised wealth and was given the impression that the trip would be brief and she would be returning home to Africa homeland. When she left, Sara did not know that she would never see her homeland, again. Sara was put on display throughout Britain and France.<img class=”aligncenter” Continue reading ‘What is booty!’

What is AL B. BACK!

I’ll just say that he’s a world class poet who you might have seen doing his thing on Def Poetry Jam or heard him on Kanye’s classic “late Registration” album on the song “Good Night”, but that’s ,only, because he cringes every time I introduce him as the guy from the movie A.T.L. that had the cast on his hand.  Personally, I refer to him as my lil bro.  Al B. Back is an artist that is definitely on the “come up”.  I identify with him because he’s a storyteller, like myself.

For your listening enjoyment, he just dropped a new mix tape that’s downloadable for free.  Peep the song “Without You” and you’ll see what I’m talkin about.. Yo Al .. if you read this post, the World Famous Tony Williams is tryna holla … I love ya’ Man and I’d love to work with ya .. ha ha ha  AGAIN!!!

What is the TIGER WOODS FACTOR!!

I’m an avid fan of, as well as, participant in most sports.  To stay fit, I do weights and run on an ,almost, daily basis.  It’s been a while, but I really love weekend competitive-fun runs, i.e. 5k’s, 10 k’s, on up to 26 mile marathons.  I was introduced to the game of golf at an early age, somewhere around 10 or so. I still enjoy the game tremendously, although, traveling for work makes it hard for me to get out as much as I would like.  I’m the type of guy that would much rather be out on the golf course or on a raquetball court than in the house watching Koby or Lebron on t.v. doing they’re thing. However, there’s one spectator event that really turns me on and that’s golf,  particularly when the big boys come to town.

I live in the Dallas/ Fort Worth metroplex and there are two p.g.a. tournament events that come through town, annually: The Byron Nelson Classic and the Colonial.  I, first, started attending these tournaments back in 96′ and quickly became hooked.  That year Phil Mickelson won the Byron and a year later Tiger took it.  Those were some classic duals back then and the atmosphere was crazy electric.  The crowds were phenomenal and there was, always, a local media frenzy. All the associated hype, I’m sure is what resulted in high television ratings.

These days Tiger Woods carefully picks and chooses, in which tournaments he plays.  I mean, with that kind of paper, you can pick and choose. If a particular course layout is not quite suited for El Tigre’s game, he just chills at home with the wife and kids,  as a result, recent tournaments have not been as festive in the “D”.  Long gone are the days  where attendance reached maximum and press roamed the grounds like vultures.  This weekend the “Tigerless” Byron Nelson looked like a shell of it’s old self and I’m pretty sure that television ratings were reflective of his absence, as well.  This is what I call the Tiger Factor.  It’s really crazy what this guy means to his sport.  He’s literally raised the clout of the game as well as everyone involved in it and they should all kiss his ass every time they see him for it!!

Where'd everyone go??

Where'd everyone go??
