WELCOME to JoiStaRR Land: A gallery of Art and Beats

JoiStaRR’s songs are as seeds sewn for the purpose of harvesting Love (or Lovingness), happiness, positivity, and just all around good energy. She has implemented as an introduction, a series of showing/listening experiences that will transform a gallery into one of the many lands the artist travels around on the planed Babooschka. A Native of StaRR Land, JoiStaRR is ever accompanied by her loyal companions Art the Heart and Jujubie (the Beat) which is only fitting as her name signifies Happy Love (Joi=Happiness, StaRR=Love). Armed with magical dust, JoiStaRR is the Fairy of Hearts and StaRR’s. The experience is made up of a line of merchandising items that includes hoodies, tank tops, t shirts, wrist bands and a series of paintings on canvas by artist, Taylor Mathews. The JSL apparal also serves as membership identification to the world of Hearts and StaRRS.

The story began to unfold last saturday evening of the eve of the B.E.T. Awards in L.A. ate Launch Party, when DAPP Studio’s, an art gallery on Venice blvd. was transformed into Lollipop Land. In this world, Lollipop Land is where any “happy thing” that you can imagine can actually happen. The night was characterized by Lollipop shots, giant size lollipops, Auntie Mae’s peanut brittle, and wall painting, and a pair of balarinas called “the swan princesses”. …. anyway the story goes, as the fairy JoiStarr sets out on her mission of spreading Love all over Planet Babooschka with the sprinkling of her magical love dust is lured by her nemesis Madam Blah (she symbolizes beezabulb), who has disguised herself as a firefly, into a mysterious portal that leads to Fantastic Land (symbolizes Earth and mortality). Madam Blah who deeply resents the notion of someone spreading Love knows the secret that if someone stays an extended amount of time in Fantastic Land, he or she will become human.

The songs featured at the Launch included Standing Alone (three baloons), Willing to Try, Hold On, and Get Up, each with an accompanying illiustrastion. Each showing/listening experience will feature different songs and illustrations until the entire project has been completely unveiled.
